Virginia and Miami each moved up in the latest AP Top 25 poll, as the pair of ACC teams led the conference in the ranking this week.

Virginia moved up one spot to No. 6 this week, while Miami checked in at No. 13, up 2 spots from last week. Houston is the new No. 1 as it switched spots with Alabama after the Crimson Tide lost at Tennessee last week and fell to No. 2. Those teams and Kansas received first-place votes.

Virginia’s move came after UVA point guard Kihei Clark became the program’s all-time leader in assists on Saturday as he passed John Crotty, who was in the crowd of 14,230 for the home game.

Elsewhere in the ACC, NC State, Pittsburgh and Duke also received votes in this week’s poll. NC State fell after a loss to Syracuse.

Across the country, the Big 12 continues to lead the way with 6 teams in the AP Top 25 and Oklahoma State receiving a vote. The Big East has 5 teams in the poll — and all in the top 20 — while the SEC and Big Ten have 3 teams apiece.
