Clemson (4-2, 2-2) will travel to Miami (4-2, 0-2) in Week 8 with the hopes of extending their winning streak to 3 games since falling to Florida State.

Meanwhile, Miami will attempt to snap a 2-game losing streak after defeats against Georgia Tech and North Carolina have taken some luster off Mario Cristobal’s second season at the helm.

ESPN’s SP+ is projecting a narrow 26-25 victory for the Hurricanes over the Tigers in Week 8.

Clemson is coming off a bye week and most recently edged Wake Forest 17-12. Clemson’s defense held Wake Forest to 239 total yards, as the Demon Deacons only converted 2 of their 12 attempts on 3rd down.

Miami fell 41-31 at North Carolina last weekend. The Hurricanes had trouble containing Tez Walker, who racked up 6 receptions for 132 yards and 3 touchdowns. Miami also allowed Omarion Hampton to rush for 197 yards and a touchdown.

Miami lost despite North Carolina committing 14 penalties for 147 yards. The Hurricanes themselves accumulated 7 penalties that resulted in 69 yards, as well giving up 4 turnovers.

“We’ve got to be better, honestly,” Miami quarterback Van Dyke said. “Too many critical situations, turnovers, making mistakes — we’ve got to fix all that stuff.”

Clemson leads the all-time series 7-6 against Miami, including 4 consecutive wins against the Hurricanes. Miami’s last victory against Clemson came in a 30-21 win in 2010.

Clemson at Miami is slated for an 8 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday (ACC Network).
