Boston College commit Benjamin Blackburn decided to jump ship to a future ACC program Thursday.

Blackburn decommitted from the Eagles and pledged to Stanford, who will be joining the ACC next season. Blackburn is a 3-star tight end out of Miami (Fla.) Columbus.

The 247Sports Composite ranks Blackburn as the No. 39 TE from the 2024 class. Here’s what Blackburn had to say about the decision:

“I will be de-committing from Boston College but want to thank the BC Staff for their support through the process,” said Blackburn. “With that being said, after receiving an offer from Stanford football, I am excited to announce that I am 1000% COMMITTED and my recruitment is closed!”

Stanford, SMU, and Cal will all be playing their first seasons in the ACC in 2024. Blackburn joins 3-star TE commit Aiden Black at Stanford.

Blackburn had been committed to Boston College since Jun. 17. Georgia Tech, Pitt, Virginia, Duke, and Virginia Tech were the other ACC schools who showed interest in him.
