Thomas Castellanos joined some elite company in Boston College’s 31-29 loss to Florida State on Saturday.

He threw for 305 yards and rushed for 95 more in defeat. Castellanos also scored a pair of touchdowns (1 rushing, 1 passing) against the Noles.

Castellanos became the 5th quarterback since 2010 to go for 300+ passing yards and 95+ rushing yards vs. a top-5 opponent.

The other quarterbacks to accomplish that feat are Johnny Manziel, JT Barrett, Kyler Murray and Spencer Sanders. Manziel and Murray won the Heisman Trophy during their careers.

That stat is via ESPN’s David Hale:

Boston College had a chance to take the lead late, but couldn’t quite pull off the comeback. The Eagles committed a school-record 18 penalties in the loss.

For Florida State, it’s a disappointing defensive performance ahead of its Week 4 marquee matchup vs. Clemson. The Noles gave up 457 yards of offense and 6.1 yards per play on Saturday.

Florida State’s matchup vs. Clemson could go a long way toward deciding who competes in the ACC Championship Game in December.
