Dabo Swinney hints at possible return for Xavier Thomas vs. Wake Forest
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney hinted at a potential return for defensive end Xavier Thomas vs. Wake Forest.
Thomas has been rehabbing a foot injury he suffered during fall camp.
However, the star defensive lineman could be ready to make his season debut this week. Swinney, with a smile, said “maybe” Thomas would suit up on Saturday vs. the Demon Deacons.

When healthy, Thomas is a major part of Clemson’s defensive line. He has 27 tackles for loss and 13 sacks in his career for the Tigers.
Clemson’s defensive line has been banged up in the last couple weeks. Tyler Davis and TrĂ© Williams both missed the Louisiana Tech game due to injury.
However, Swinney told reporters on Wednesday that the Tigers are in better shape health-wise going into the Wake Forest contest. Still, Clemson is not expected to provide further injury updates until its availability report is published on Saturday.
Dabo Swinney, talking ahead of Wake Forest matchup, says Clemson's in "a much better spot injury-wise" after being down 5 defensive starters for most of LA Tech game. No more info until Saturday's pregame availability report but "we're in a good place," he says
