ESPN’s Chris “The Bear” Fallica is picking against Clemson on Saturday afternoon.

At least against the spread. Fallica is taking Louisville +7 in its marquee matchup against the Tigers. He explained why in his weekly column for ESPN.

Typically this would be a logical play of Clemson coming off a blowout loss, but I’m not seeing that here. It’s impossible to see how either quarterback has any confidence right now. Louisville has strung together four straight wins and has surprisingly played very well on the defensive side of the ball much of the year. Clemson’s defense may carry them to a win, but I’d be surprised if it were easy.

Louisville’s defense will present multiple problems for the Tigers. The Cardinals specialize in creating havoc — they lead the ACC in sacks and tied for second in tackles for loss.

That could be an issue for DJ Uiagalelei, who has struggled in his last two outings. If he doesn’t improve vs. the Cardinals, Clemson could turn to true freshman Cade Klubnik.

Clemson is 8-1 and needs to win out to keep up any hope of reaching the College Football Playoff.

Louisville has won four straight games this season, but it has never beaten the Tigers. Louisville is winless in seven attempts vs. Clemson.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
