Florida State is a 2.5-point favorite over Louisville on Friday night as both teams look for their first ACC win of the season.

ESPN’s Chris “The Bear” Fallica is backing Louisville in this matchup. He told Greg McElroy on the latest episode of Always College Football that he was impressed with the Cardinals’ defense in Week 2 vs. UCF.

“I actually like Louisville in this game,” he said. “What they showed me in the second half last week, defensively, they played much better shutting down that UCF offense.”

The Bear also discounted Florida State’s win over LSU in Week 1, citing crucial mistakes from the Tigers and an unsustainably-good night on 3rd down for the Seminoles.

“Look, Florida State did get the win over LSU at the Superdome,” he added. “But to me … that felt more like LSU kind of botching some things in that game. Helping Florida State along the way. And Florida State having an unbelievable night on 3rd down. I think Louisville plus the points is the play here.”

McElroy did not pick either team in this matchup.

Florida State is 2-0 and is coming off an open date for this matchup, meaning it had 2 weeks to prepare for the Cardinals. Louisville has a 1-1 record to start the year. It beat UCF on the road last weekend but got blown out by Syracuse back in Week 1.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday night.
