Florida State defensive back Akeem Dent made one of the biggest plays of FSU’s season in 2021.

Late in the 4th quarter as the Noles were nursing a 26-23 lead over Boston College, Dent picked off quarterback Phil Jurkovec to effectively end the game.

Earlier this week, Dent sat down with ACC Network’s Eric Mac Lain to talk through some of his biggest plays from last season, including that crucial INT.

“As [Boston College WR Zay Flowers] shifted inside with his inside release, I just weaved inside to at least have a little presence for him,” Dent said.

Jurkovec ended up making a desperation throw to his top receiver, but Dent was in perfect position to pick off the pass. Boston College never got the ball back.

Here’s Dent’s full film study segment with Mac Lain:

Dent is projected to be one of the ACC’s best defensive backs in 2022. Last season he recorded 44 tackles, 1 interception and 4 pass deflections. He and Jammie Robinson form perhaps the best safety tandem in the ACC.

Florida State opens the 2022 season with Duquesne on Aug. 27.
