Florida State named finalist for 4-star DL in class of 2024
Florida State is one of a few teams still in the mix for 4-star defensive lineman Daniel Holmes.
Holmes announced his top 6 programs on Wednesday. In addition to the Noles, he’s still considering Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida and Rutgers.

Holmes is an elite pass-rushing prospect. He’s the No. 292 overall player and the No. 32 defensive lineman in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from Washington D.C.
He has already taken an unofficial visit to Florida State earlier this spring. It’s unclear if he plans to take an official to Tallahassee before making his final decision.
Holmes attends Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 240 pounds. Holmes has also received offers from programs such as Penn State, Texas and Wisconsin.
Florida State is off to a strong start in the class of 2024. The Noles have 11 commitments in this class to-date. The group sits at No. 8 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
