Florida State has officially announced the addition of former Oregon State and Clemson transfer DJ Uiagalelei.

Uiagalelei committed to the Noles on Monday. He was one of several quarterbacks who Florida State evaluated in the transfer portal this offseason.

Here’s the announcement:

Uiagalelei has one year of eligibility remaining. He’s expected to serve as FSU’s starting quarterback next season and mentor other young passers in Tallahassee such as Brock Glenn and incoming true freshman Luke Kromenhoek.

Uiagalelei is coming off of a career-best season at Oregon State. In 2023, he threw for 2,638 yards, 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. The Beavers were consistently ranked as a top-25 team throughout the year.

He will be replacing Jordan Travis, who is out of collegiate eligibility. The Seminoles will be looking to repeat as ACC Champions next season and perhaps compete for a spot in the newly-expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

Uiagalelei is one of two transfer additions FSU has made so far this offseason.
