Jordan Travis said goodbye to Florida State fans Monday morning.

The Seminoles’ star quarterback suffered a serious leg injury in the first quarter against North Alabama last Saturday that ended his season. He was in the hospital over the weekend, surrounded by teammates, and said in a message to Florida State fans on Monday that the support he has received has been overwhelming.

“I truly cannot thank everyone enough for the many thoughts, prayers, and messages that have been sent my way,” Travis wrote. “I have been overwhelmed by the support from my teammates, coaches, the Florida State community, and those all around the world. Although the injury I sustained on November 18th, 2023, marks the end of my Seminole playing career, the great memories created here at FSU will never fade.

“Being the quarterback here at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored, and forever grateful. The journey this team set out on is not over yet as all of our goals still lie just ahead. I am excited to be by my brothers’ sides every day as we continue our attack. We’re all we got, we’re all we need. Job’s not finished. Go Noles!”

Travis closes out his 2023 redshirt senior season with 2,756 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. After 11 games, he ranks second among ACC quarterbacks in both yardage and passer rating.

On a game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to beat Clemson, Travis broke Florida State’s career touchdowns record. His 97 total touchdowns passed 2000 Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke. Travis also holds Florida State records for total offense in a career (10,554), quarterback rushing (1,910) and quarterback rushing touchdowns (31).

His 65 career passing touchdowns are tied with Jameis Winston for second-most in program history. His 8,644 passing yards and 28 career wins are both second-most behind only Weinke.

Travis will go down as the only player in school history with at least 50 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns.

After playing sparingly in 2018 and 2019, Travis has started 38 games for the Seminoles dating back to the start of the 2020 campaign.

Florida State faces Florida in Gainesville on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
