Mike Norvell was impressed with the way Jordan Travis prepared in the week leading up to the Georgia Tech game.

After the win over the Yellow Jackets, Norvell told reporters that Travis’ preparation was ‘almost angry.’ Florida State was coming off of an open date and, perhaps more importantly, a three-game losing streak.

Travis was determined to make sure that streak ended on Saturday night in Doak Campbell Stadium. He threw for a career-high 396 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

“I thought he played maybe as good of a game as he’s played since he’s been here,” Norvell said of his starting quarterback. “His control, you see the work. I said it during the week in practice. He was almost angry in how he prepared. It was impressive to see him carry that over.”

Throughout the week, Travis was clear about what his goals were for the rest of the season: a 5-0 record down the stretch.

If the Noles do win out, it would mean they finish the regular season with a 9-3 record. They would then have an opportunity to win a 10th game in the postseason.

Florida State has not won double-digit games since the 2016 season. The Noles haven’t reached a bowl game since 2019.

FSU is expected to be a heavy favorite this weekend on the road at Miami.
