LSU quarterback Myles Brennan has reportedly left the program with less than 3 weeks before LSU’s season opener against Florida State on Sept. 4.

According to Kristian Garic, Brennan was informed that he will not be LSU’s starting quarterback in 2022. After finding out the news, he decided to leave LSU and step away from football.

Brennan, a 5th-year senior, was in the middle of a quarterback competition throughout the offseason with Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels.

Brennan missed the entire 2021 season with an off-field injury. He entered the transfer portal in November 2021 but decided to return to LSU in December.

In 2020, Brennan appeared in 3 games before his season was cut short with an injury against Missouri. He missed most of the last 2 seasons with injuries. He never had an opportunity to play a full season as LSU’s starting quarterback.

Brennan was a backup at LSU from 2017 to 2019. He played in 10 games in 2019. Brennan finished the 2019 season with 353 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

When LSU and Florida State play in New Orleans, it will be Florida State’s second game of the season. The Seminoles will start the season against Duquesne in Week 0.
