Georgia Tech football finished their season strong Friday night at the Gasparilla Bowl, downing UCF 30-17. The Yellow Jackets finish the first year of the Brent Key era with a 7-6 record following a 5-7 campaign last season.

Several members of the GT team decided to light up cigars following the win over the Knights. You may think this is strange considering the Yellow Jackets are just 7-6, but Tampa (where the bowl game was played) is known as the “Cigar City.”

Seems to be the appropriate response in that case:

The Yellow Jackets trailed 17-3 with just under 5 minutes remaining in the first half but proceeded to score 27 unanswered across the final 35 minutes of the game. GT had the lead less than 3 minutes into the 2nd half and never looked back.

The Knights simply had zero answer for the Yellow Jackets’ run game. Georgia Tech rushed for 284 yards and a pair of touchdowns as QB Haynes King struggled to get anything going in the passing game.
