Jalen Kimber will play under Jeff Brohm in the ACC at Louisville.

The former Florida and Georgia defensive back entered the transfer portal on December 22 and, just over a week later, made his decision early Saturday morning.

Here’s his commitment post:

Kimber started his career at Georgia before transferring to Florida ahead of the 2022 season. He spent 2 years with the Bulldogs and 2 years with the Gators and now joins the Cardinals with 1 season of eligibility remaining.

He’s coming off his best year of college football, too. Kimber appeared in all 12 games for the Gators and made 11 starts, finishing the year with 23 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and 5 pass deflections. He had just 1 pass deflection entering this season. In 2022 Kimber returned an interception for a touchdown in a 3-point win over USF.

This is a much-needed get for the Cardinals, who are set to lose a lot of players from their secondary. Storm Duck is out of eligibility and though it’s not official, it seems likely that Quincy Riley and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. will declare for the NFL Draft.
