Former Florida and Georgia defensive back Jalen Kimber is transferring to Penn State instead after being committed to Louisville.

Kimber started his college career at Georgia in 2020, where he played for 2 seasons and appeared in 3 games. He played in 1 game in 2021 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.

Kimber transferred to Florida and found more playing time. In 2022, Kimber played in all 13 games with 13 total tackles and 1 pick-6.

He saw plenty of playing time again this past season, playing in 12 games with 23 total tackles, 5 pass breakups, and 1 fumble recovery. Kimber was 2nd on the team in pass breakups in 2023 and also achieved a career-high in total tackles.

Here’s what the former Florida DB had to say about his transfer to Penn State for 2024:

“I’m sincerely thankful to God for blessing me with the talent to play football and the opportunity to follow my passion. I extend my gratitude to the University of Louisville, Coach Brohm, and Coach English for the chance to join their program. …

“With gratitude for this opportunity, I am excited to announce that I will complete my final season of college football at Pennsylvania State University.”

Kimber was a former 4-star recruit out of Arlington (TX) Mansfield Timberview. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 9 CB and No. 13 prospect out of Texas in the Class of 2020.
