ESPN’s Chris “The Bear” Fallica has a pick for North Carolina’s high-profile matchup with Wake Forest this weekend.

Fallica is going with Wake Forest at home this weekend, even as 3.5-point favorites. The Demon Deacons were a somewhat surprising favorite in Vegas this week as they’ve lost their last two games in self-destructive fashion with 11 total turnovers.

Fallica thinks Wake Forest will be able to “get right” this weekend against the Tar Heels. Here’s his analysis:

Wake Forest has pretty much thrown up all over itself the last two weeks with 11 turnovers in road losses to NC State and Louisville. This is a really good spot to get right offensively against the 117th ranked team in the country in defensive efficiency. UNC will get theirs on offense, that’s for sure, but Wake being favored probably caught a lot of casual observers off guard. Vegas typically doesn’t make mistakes with situations like this. I still think UNC gets to the ACC title game and has a great chance to win. But Saturday feels like a get-right spot for Wake off two horrific turnover riddled performances.

UNC’s defense has been poor for most of this season, although there have been signs of improvement in recent weeks. The Tar Heels have kept four of their last five opponents to under 30 points.

North Carolina could clinch a spot in the ACC title game with a win on Saturday. It would be the Tar Heels’ first ACC Coastal division title since 2015.

If UNC wins on Saturday, it will also finish off a perfect 6-0 record in road games this season. Carolina’s only loss so far in 2022 came at home to Notre Dame in September.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
