North Carolina dropped a game on the road at Syracuse on Tuesday night, 86-79.

After a 9-0 start to ACC play, the Tar Heels have now lost 3 of their last 5 conference games. UNC has also dropped games Georgia Tech and Clemson over the past couple of weeks.

This game was tied 42-42 at the half thanks to an offensive outburst by Syracuse. The Orange shot 63% from the floor and 50% from 3-point land before the break.

In the second half, Carolina went cold offensively and was not able to keep up. The Tar Heels shot just 13-of-33 from field goal range in the 2nd half and were unable to keep pace with Syracuse.

Judah Mintz led the way for Syracuse with 25 points on just 11 shots. Mintz with 9-for-11 from the free throw line. He was 1 of 4 Syracuse players who scored in double figures. JJ Starling also scored 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

RJ Davis led Carolina with 19 points on 17 shots. Cormac Ryan, Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram also scored in double-figures.

Carolina will try to bounce back on Saturday against Virginia Tech.
