North Carolina benefitted from a pair of standout performances this week.

Both Alijah Huzzie and Kaimon Rucker were named to the ACC’s Players of the Week team on Monday for their efforts in Week 4.

Huzzie was named as the ACC’s specialist of the week. He returned a punt for a touchdown in the 1st half of UNC’s 41-24 victory over Pitt last week.

Rucker was named the league’s defensive lineman of the week. Rucker has been arguably UNC’s top defensive player so far this season. Against the Panthers, he collected 5 tackles and 2 sacks.

Huzzie is in his first season with the Tar Heels after transferring from East Tennessee State. He’s already made a big impact on UNC, both on defense and on special teams. He’s recorded 17 tackles, 2 interceptions and 4 pass breakups already so far this season.

This is Rucker’s 4th season with Carolina and it’s starting to look like a breakout campaign for the Georgia native. Rucker has already been credited with a career-high 7.5 tackles for loss this season. That number leads the ACC through 4 weeks.

North Carolina will host Syracuse in Week 6.
