JD Bertrand’s draft stock is trending up after an impressive week of practices at the Senior Bowl.

Bertrand was named the top linebacker on the American team at the Senior Bowl this week. The honor was voted on by the offensive linemen and running backs who competed against Bertrand this week in Mobile.

The honor was announced by Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy on Friday:

Bertrand is hoping to be Notre Dame’s first linebacker to be picked in the NFL Draft since Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in 2021. Last year, Notre Dame had 3 draft picks. That number could increase significantly in 2024 with Bertrand, Joe Alt, Blake Fisher, Audric Estime, Cam Hart and Sam Hartman amongst the former Irish players who are entering the draft this spring.

Bertrand was a 3-year starter for the Fighting Irish who totaled 267 tackles in his collegiate career. In 2023, Bertrand finished second on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be held from April 25-27.
