The Fighting Irish got a second defensive line commitment of the 2024 class on Saturday.

Cole Mullins is a 6-4, 240-pound LB hailing from Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia. Mullins made an appearance South Bend on Wednesday for an official visit, announcing his commitment just 3 days later.

He’ll be joining Princeton, NJ lineman Owen Wafle in the class of 2024. Mullins is Notre Dame’s tenth commitment of the season.

Although listed as a linebacker, Mullins could play the vyper position at Notre Dame.  The Vyper position is a relatively new concept where the defensive end drops back as a linebacker. It was previously known as a drop end under former coach Clark Lea’s leadership.

Prior to his junior season, Mullins had over 20 offers, including schools like Miami, USC, Stanford, North Carolina, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Duke, Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. This past season, Mullins amassed 58 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 6 quarterback hurries and 2 pass breakups in 15 games with Mill Creek.
