Notre Dame fell completely out of the AP Top 25 this week, which was released on Sunday afternoon.

With two consecutive losses to start the 2022 season, including a 26-21 home loss in Week 2 to Marshall, Notre Dame has fallen out of the top 25 for the first time since 2017.

Notre Dame opened the 2022 season at No. 5 as they lost to No. 2 Ohio State 21-10 in Week 1. In Week 2, Marshall upset No. 8 Notre Dame 26-21 in South Bend, Indiana.

Notre Dame started the 2017 season unranked following a 4-8 season in 2016. They spent three of the first four weeks of the 2017 season unranked, but they finished the season with an overall record of 10-3 and w 21-17 win over LSU in the Citrus Bowl.

The Fighting Irish are set to hot Cal in Week 3.
