Notre Dame is apparently in the lead for 4-star offensive lineman Peter Jones.

Two leading experts — 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong and IrishIllustrated’s Tom Loy — put in a Crystal Ball projection for the Irish to land Jones’ commitment. Both projections were made on Thursday.

Jones would be a significant addition to Notre Dame’s 2024 recruiting class. He’s the No. 177 overall player and the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Jones already has offers from programs like Penn State, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He’s already made multiple trips to South Bend for an unofficial visit.

Notre Dame does not currently have any commitments from offensive linemen in the class of 2024. Jones would also become the Irish’s first commitment from the state of Pennsylvania in this class.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 289 pounds, Jones has a very impressive frame for someone who has not yet played his junior season. He will do so this fall at Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Penn.

Notre Dame has 5 total commitments in the class of 2024. The group currently ranks No. 1 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The class is led by 5-star QB commit CJ Carr.
