Notre Dame picked up a major commitment in the class of 2023 on Wednesday afternoon.

4-star athlete Brandyn Hillman committed to the Fighting Irish. He picked Notre Dame over USC, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Kentucky.

Hillman made his announcement during a ceremony on Wednesday.

Hillman is a major addition for Notre Dame in this class. He was a late-riser in the 2023 recruiting class, but an excellent senior season put him on the radar for several top programs around the country.

He ends the cycle as a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s ranked as the No. 376 overall player in the country and the No. 21 athlete. He’s also the No. 7 player from the state of Virginia.

He attends Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 191 pounds. He played quarterback for his high school team, but is expected to move off of that position at the next level. He has the frame to play on either side of the ball.

Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class is now up to 27 commitments. The group ranks No. 3 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
