Notre Dame makes the cut for elite EDGE in class of 2025
Notre Dame remains in the mix for one of the top pass rushers in the country for the class of 2025.
4-star EDGE London Merritt released his top 12 programs on Tuesday afternoon. The Fighting Irish made the cut alongside some of the top programs in the country: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU, Florida State, Florida, Texas A&M, Colorado, North Carolina and USC.

Merritt is an elite prospect in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 56 overall player and the No. 8 EDGE in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 11 player from the state of Georgia.
He attends Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds.
It’s still very early in the 2025 class, but the Irish are off to a good start. They already have a commitment in this class from 4-star defensive lineman Davion Dixon.
