Former Alabama QB Eli Holstein has found his new home.

The Crimson Tide transfer quarterback is continuing his career at Pittsburgh. He announced his commitment to Pat Narduzzi’s program on Sunday via social media.

Out of Zachary (Louisiana) High School, Holstein was a sought-after recruit. On the 247Sports Composite, Holstein was rated 4-stars, the No. 5 player in the state of Louisiana, No. 8 quarterback and No. 88 prospect overall in the Class of 2023. Holstein chose Alabama over offers from 23 other schools, including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M.

Holstein, listed at 6-4, 237 pounds, was part of a Crimson Tide quarterback room that featured five scholarship players as UA figured out the post-Bryce Young era. He departs Tuscaloosa without logging any game time after serving on the scout team.

After taking a redshirt for 2023, Holstein arrives at Pitt with four full seasons of remaining eligibility. The Panthers went 3-9 in 2023 and look to bounce back in 2024, opening the season against Kent State on Aug. 31.
