Virginia officials share details in shooting death of 3 UVA football players
Virginia officials held a press conference on Monday morning to share details of the shooting that killed three students — all active UVA football players — on Sunday night.
Virginia president Jim Ryan confirmed the identities of the three players: linebacker D’Sean Perry, receiver Lavel Davis and receiver Devin Chandler.
Ryan said the shooting happened on a bus of students that were returning from a field trip. The shooting took place at Culbreath Garage on central grounds.
He also announced that the suspect in the shooting, Christopher Jones, has been taken into custody. Jones is former Virginia football player who was on the 2018 roster as a walk-on. He did not appear in any games for the Cavaliers.
