Wake Forest continued its special season over the weekend, and on Monday, the Demon Deacons were rewarded with their first-ever No. 1 ranking in the Baseball America Top 25.

Wake won the weekend series against Boston College, the 8th straight series win to open ACC play. This is the first time in the 43-year history of the rankings that the Demon Deacons have ranked No. 1. Wake Forest leads the nation in both wins (39) and winning percentage (.848). It is in first place in the ACC and has not lost a weekend series this season.

The Deacs got 2 quality starts from Rhett Lowder (7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K) and Josh Hartle (7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 9 K). Wake Forest this weekend travels to Tallahassee to take on Florida State.

Elsewhere in the poll, Clemson is ranked for the first time this season at No. 18 after its 5th straight ACC series win.
