Jim Larranaga previews Indiana's strong duo of Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino
Jim Larranaga and Miami squeaked past upset-minded Drake Friday night, advancing to the Round of 32 against Indiana.
The Hoosiers were popular upset picks in the first round… on the wrong side of the upset. Kent State played poorly against the Hoosiers, making just 9 of 30 layup attempts. Not a winning formula.
Miami is not going to struggle that much from the field, but they have a pair of strong players that will make it especially difficult for the Hurricanes. On Saturday, Jim Larranaga previewed both Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis and how they can defend against each come Sunday.
Here’s what Larranaga had to say about TJD:
Miami’s Jim Larrañaga on #iubb’s Trayce Jackson-Davis.
“He’s an outstanding passer…as a coach who has to defend him, we have to have plan A, plan B and plan C.”

And here’s his comments on JHS:
Jim Larrañaga says Jalen Hood-Schifino will be a “handful” tomorrow.
Mentioned pick and roll defense and getting him out of his comfort zone as keys.
Says he tried hard to recruit JHS to Miami. #iubb

The 2 combined to score 32 points Friday night, with Jackson-Davis adding 11 rebounds. The Hurricanes face off against the Hoosiers Sunday at 8:40 ET.
