Virginia baseball opens ACC Tournament with record blowout of Georgia Tech
Virginia baseball is off and running in ACC Tournament pool play, blowing past Georgia Tech in dominant — and record — fashion Wednesday evening.
In the 5th inning, Ethan O’Donnell delivered one of the big blows for the Cavaliers, a 3-run HR to make it 11-0. By the time the top of the 7th inning came to a close, the Cavaliers had opened up a 15-0 lead before finishing up a 15-1 run-rule victory over the Yellow Jackets.

Not only is 15 runs dominant on any day, but those 15 runs are also a record for the Cavs in an ACC Tournament matchup. Virginia will be back in action at 3 pm ET on Thursday.

At the end of the day, 7 Cavaliers notched an RBI with 5 players recording at least 2 RBI. O’Donnell led the barrage with his 3-run home run and added 2 runs scored.
