Florida State has landed a commitment from a talented ex-SEC defensive back.

Earl Little Jr., formerly of the Alabama Crimson Tide, announced on social media that he will be continuing his college career with the Seminoles. Little was heavily recruited by the Noles back in 2022 before signing with the Tide.

2023 was the first season with Patrick Surtain Sr. as the DB coach in Tallahassee. The Noles’ secondary took a huge jump under Surtain, and was the only team in the country to force more incompletions than completions. However, the Noles have seen both Renardo Green and Jarrian Jones declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. The addition of Little gives the team depth and some experience in the back end.

Little played sparingly during 2 seasons at Alabama. The defensive back saw time in 8 games  in 2023, recording 2 tackles and mostly playing on special teams. The Noles are hoping a change of scenery can help out the young defensive back.

The Noles have been busy in the transfer portal. The team has recently added former Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr,  former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, and former LSU wide receiver Jalen Brown over the last few weeks.
