Miami has landed a defender from an ACC rival via the transfer portal.

Per reports, former NC State Wolfpack defensive lineman CJ Clark has committed to the Miami Hurricanes.

Clark spent 5 season sin Raleigh with the Wolfpack. Over 40 games, Clark collected 73 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. Clark set a career-high in tackles for loss in 2023 with 4. The lineman will have 1 season of eligibility remaining.

The defensive lineman starred for North Stanly High School in New London, NC. Per the 247Sports Composite ranking, Clark was the No. 16 defensive tackle prospect in the 2019 class and was the No. 4 prospect out of North Carolina. Coming out of high school, Clark received offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, and Auburn, among others, before deciding on the Wolfpack.

Clark is the first player to commit to Miami via the transfer portal this cycle. The Canes have seen 9 players enter the portal thus far, including edge rushers Cyrus Moss and Chantz Williams, wide receiver Colbie Young, and tight end Jaleel Skinner.

The Canes are set to face off against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the Pinstripe Bowl to end the 2023 season.
