Miami reaches across rivalry lines for transfer pledge from ex-FSU playmaker
Miami pulled in a rivalry transfer piece on Saturday, adding a potential contributor to the backfield from an ex-Florida State running back.
The player is Rodney Hill, originally a 3-star athlete out of Georgia in the 2022 recruiting class. Hill had a tough time cracking the depth chart behind Trey Benson and Lawrance Toafili with the Seminoles, and he’ll try to find a larger role at Miami.

During his true freshman season, Hill appeared in 4 games to maintain a redshirt and rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown while averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He appeared in 12 games this past season with 190 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also proved his ability in the passing game with 5 catches for 83 yards receiving.
Hill becomes the 10th transfer commitment for Mario Cristobal’s program this cycle. That group is ranked as the 27th transfer class in the country per 247 Sports. Miami is also adding the No. 5 recruiting class in the country as the Hurricanes reload heading into the 2024 season.
