Miami seems to be making progress on 5-star pass rusher
Miami seems to be heavily involved in the recruitment of 5-star EDGE TJ Capers.
Capers is of the best prospects in the entire country for the class of 2024. He’s also a Miami native, which should give the Canes an edge in his recruitment.
Miami appears to be taking advantage that proximity. Capers told Rivals’ Michael Yero this weekend that he has a strong connection with coach Mario Cristobal.

Capers was also wearing Miami gloves at his high school game over the weekend. Here’s a look:

Capers is currently ranked as the No. 6 overall player and the No. 1 EDGE in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds. He attends Columbus High School in Miami.
If Miami is able to land Capers, he would become one of Miami’s top recruits in recent memory. He also has offers from programs like Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and many other top teams.
Miami already has 2 commitments in the 2024 cycle: 4-star safety Antoine Jackson and kicker Abram Murray.
