Miami will be hosting a Friday night game during the 2024 regular season.

That news was announced by the ACC on Tuesday afternoon. The Hurricanes will host Virginia Tech on Friday night of Week 5. This is the only weeknight game that Miami is currently scheduled to play in 2024.

Here’s the official announcement from the ACC:

The ACC is set to announced its full 2024 schedule on Wednesday. The Hurricanes’ opponents for this upcoming season are already known. In ACC play, Miami will host Virginia Tech, Florida State, Duke and Wake Forest. The Canes will travel to Cal, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Syracuse in 2024.

Miami has won 3 straight meetings against Virginia Tech. However, the programs did not meet in 2023 due to the ACC’s new scheduling format. The league went away from divisions in 2023, which ended a streak of Miami and Virginia Tech meeting every season since 1992.

Both Miami and Virginia Tech are expected to be much-improved next season. The Canes have made some moves in the portal this offseason by adding players such was former Washington State quarterback Cam Ward. Virginia Tech is set to return numerous key players from its 2023 roster next season.

Miami and Virginia Tech will renew their rivalry on Sept. 27.
