Marcus Freeman makes trip to Texas to visit 5-star defensive back
Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman made the trip to Denton, Texas to visit 5-star safety commit Peyton Bowen on Friday night.
Bowen has been committed to Notre Dame for months, but is being heavily pursued by both Oklahoma and Texas A&M — two more regional programs.

Bowen is a crucial member of Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class. He’s the No. 36 overall player and the No. 4 safety in the country for this cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the top-ranked commitment in Notre Dame’s class.
Keeping Bowen in the fold will be crucial for Notre Dame if it wants to keep its elite recruiting class for this cycle. The Irish currently rank No. 5 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Notre Dame is off this week but will face BYU in Week 6.
The Early Signing Period is in December.
