Notre Dame added a big piece — literally to its 2025 recruiting class on Thursday as offensive tackle Will Black committed to the Fighting Irish program. Black is the 11th player to pledge to Marcus Freeman and the Irish, who currently have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports.

Black is rated as one of the top offensive tackles in his class, coming in at No. 29 nationally within 247Sports’ composite rankings. The 6-foot-7, 295-pounder had significant interest from Alabama, Michigan, and Penn State, while Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Texas A&M were among his other offers. He is the 1st offensive tackle to commit to the 2025 class.

Freeman is looking to land back-to-back Top 10 classes in South Bend: the 2024 class, the majority of which signed on Wednesday, was No. 8, 5 spots higher than 2023’s. While there’s plenty of time to go before 2025’s class signs, the Irish will hope that there’s more good news to come.
