5-star quarterback prospect Dante Moore is Notre Dame’s top target in the class of 2023. He’s also coming off an unofficial visit to South Bend where he spent two days on campus.

According to reports, Moore was able to spend plenty of time with head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. He sat in on a spring practice, too.

“When you think of Coach Rees, you think of a cool, calm and collected guy,” Moore told reporters in a wide-ranging interview, via IrishSportsDaily. “But when it’s practice time, he’s just fire, screaming here, screaming there, not in a bad way but leading and helping the quarterbacks lead the team and everything.”

Moore also told reporters that he intends to take all 5 of his official visits before committing. The Detroit, Michigan, native indicated that one of those five visits will “probably” belong to the Fighting Irish.

That’s good news for Notre Dame, who is working on perhaps the nation’s best recruiting class in the country for 2023. Notre Dame’s class currently ranks No. 1 overall, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Freeman’s staff has already earned 9 verbal commitments.

Moore would immediately become the top player in Notre Dame’s already-elite signing class. He’s currently ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Moore also earned an official invitation to the Elite 11 Finals over the weekend.
