Notre Dame to start true freshman vs. BYU
Notre Dame is expected to start a true freshman in its pivotal matchup with BYU this weekend.
Cornerback Benjamin Morrison is listed as a starter on Notre Dame’s depth chart, which was released on Monday morning. He has evidently beaten out junior Clarence Lewis for the starting role.

At his weekly press conference on Monday, Freeman called Morrison a “special” player.
Marcus Freeman asked about Ben Morrison taking the starting CB job: "Special, man. Special."

Morrison has played in multiple games this season and even got the start against Cal. He recorded 3 tackles against the Golden Bears.
It’s been a quick rise for Morrison, who was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was ranked as the No. 35 overall cornerback in that class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Notre Dame will need a big performance from Morrison and the rest of its secondary against BYU quarterback Jaren Hall this week. Hall has been picking up hype as a potential NFL Draft prospect at quarterback over the early part of the season.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
