Riley Leonard will take over as the signal caller in South Bend for the 2024 season. The former Duke star transferred to the Fighting Irish, and one sportsbook thinks highly of his chances to win college football’s most prestigious award.

FanDuel has released the opening odds for the 2024 Heisman Trophy, and Leonard is amongst the favorites to win the honor. FanDuel has Leonard at +2500 odds, which is good for the 12th-best as of publication. Leonard’s odds are better than DJ Uiagalelei, Will Rogers, and Drew Allar’s, among others.

Through parts of 3 seasons with the Duke Blue Devils, Leonard threw for 4,450 yards, 24 TDs, and 10 INTs. The dual-threat QB also rushed for 1,224 yards and 19 scores. Leonard was one of the most sought-after QBs in the portal.

The Irish are hoping the QB can improve the team’s 49th-ranked pass attack from 2023.
