The race is on.

With the 2021 Heisman Trophy race still wide open entering Week 13, Pittsburgh is putting quarterback Kenny Pickett into the running.

Through 11 games, Pickett has one of the best statistical cases in the entire country. He’s throw for 3,857 yards and 36 touchdowns while posting a passer efficiency rating north of 168.

He’s also led Pitt to a 9-2 record so far and has helped the Panthers clinch their second ACC Coastal title in program history. With that being said, earlier this week Pittsburgh launched a Heisman campaign website for its start quarterback.

The site includes key statistics for Pickett’s case as well as video highlight packages.

It also details the numerous other awards Pickett is already being considered for, including the Davey O’Brien Award, the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award.

Pickett has been aided this year by receiver Jordan Addison, who is also making a case for national awards. He’s nearing the 1,300-yard mark, which would make him the first ACC receiver to hit that threshold since 2017.

Pitt will have a chance to clinch a 10-win season on Saturday in its season-finale vs. Syracuse.
