Dino Babers was vague when talking about Garrett Shrader’s injury status for the Week 11 game against Florida State.

Shrader missed Saturday’s game against Pittsburgh with an injury. In Week 9, Shrader left the loss to Notre Dame with an injury and did not play in the second half.

In a Monday press conference, Babers was asked about Shrader’s status for this week’s game.

“I would hope that by not playing Garrett [against Pitt], he’s healthier. But again, that’s for the doctors to tell us, and we won’t find out until later on tonight,” Babers said.

Babers said that Syracuse will not know Shader’s status until later Monday night. Babers was asked about the specifics of Shrader’s injury, but only classified it as an “owie.”

If Shrader does not play, Florida State can expect to go up against backup quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson. Del Rio-Wilson saw significant playing time in the last two games against Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.

Florida State will look to take advantage of Syracuse’s uncertain quarterback situation. In Week 10, Florida State bludgeoned Miami in a 45-3 win. The Seminoles are 6-3 and have a two-game winning streak heading into this week’s game against Syracuse.

Florida State is on a two-game winning streak over Syracuse. In 2021, Florida State held off Syracuse in a 33-30 win.

Syracuse will play host to Florida State on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
