Virginia Tech star receiver Tré Turner is entering the 2022 NFL Draft.

Turner announced that news on Wednesday and added that he would not be participating in the Hokies’ bowl game.

Turner was Virginia Tech’s leading receiver this season with 675 yards and 3 touchdowns. His best game was against Georgia Tech, where he caught 7 passes for 187 yards and 1 touchdown.

Turner ends his collegiate career with 134 catches for 2,292 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also scored 4 rushing touchdowns during his career.

This news comes just one day after Virginia Tech announced the hiring of new head coach Brent Pry. He replaces Justin Fuente, who spent six years in Blacksburg. Pry is a defensive coach who has worked for James Franklin at Penn State and Vanderbilt.

Virginia Tech defeated Virginia in the last game of the regular season to reach bowl eligibility. The Hokies will find out their bowl opponent sometime this weekend.
